How does Television work? Most of my working life has been involved with the process of making television work; engineering TV cameras and receivers, among other things. The subtleties and trade-offs necessary to make successful commercial products from collections of parts and ideas is what makes engineering so fascinating. Television works today because of all the advances of the last hundred years, combined and refined into its present form, which is of course still evolving.
