This is a mystery TV booster, with no name or location indicated on it anywhere. It came to me from an estate sale in Columbus Indiana, with no other information, though its lineage is pretty clear. The knobs, and the chassis inside the brown metal cabinet, are undoubtedly Regency db-410A. Since the chassis is about 1/4 inch wider and deeper than the db-410A, it was probably made under license from I.D.E.A. Most likely it was produced in about 1951 or '52.
The circuit is that of the db-410a, with a single 6J6 dual triode, switched between the low and high VHF TV bands. Tuning is via ganged permeability-tuned coils in the grid and plate circuits. The power supply uses a transformer with the usual half-wave selenium rectifier for the high voltage.
If you recognize the manufacturer or seller of this mystery booster (or any other booster not seen on these pages), please contact me at k8zhd@yahoo.com. And thanks!
